A girl is in serious problem after a bicycle crash in Kerry final night time.

Gardaí said the incident transpired about 9pm yesterday in Dooneen on Castle Kerry Island.

The driver and sole passenger of the car involved was a girl in her 30s who was taken to College Healthcare facility Kerry with really serious accidents.

Forensic collision investigators are now conducting a specialized inspection of the scene. As a final result, the Castleisland Bypass is shut on the N21 and there is a neighborhood diversion by way of the town of Castleisland.

Gardaí appealed for any witnesses to appear ahead.
