Kupang Student Entangled in Child Abuse Case Involving Former Ngada Police Chief

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – A female student from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), was dragged into a case of sexual violence against children committed by the former Ngada Police Chief, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Fajar Widyadharma. The police have named a student named Stefani alias Fani as a suspect. “Fani is a woman who is the supplier of a child who is now six years old to Fajar in one of the hotels in Kupang City,” said Director of the General Criminal Investigation (Direskrimum) NTT Polda Senior Commissioner Patar Silalahi, as quoted from BetweenTuesday, March 25, 2025.

According to Patar, Fajar became acquainted with Fani on June 10, 2024 through social media applications. After getting to know each other, on June 11, 2024, Fajar asked Fani to find a minor. At that time, Fajar promised a reward of Rp 3 million to Fani if he was able to fulfill his wishes.

Fani then brought a child he already knew. The child is five years old. Fani invited the child to go around in the city of Kupang, take a walk, and eat together.

After being tired all day for a walk, around 20:00 pm, the child was brought by Fani to rest in a hotel room that Fajar had occupied. When the child fell asleep, Fajar then carried out his depraved action and recorded the act. “Fani then left the victim to sleep in the room,” Patar said. “At 01.00 WITA, the victim woke up so the perpetrator asked Fani to take back home.”

On the way home, Fani asked the victim not to tell what had happened in the hotel to her parents. In return, the victim was given Rp 100,000.

Patar said that with the determination of Fani as a suspect, there are now two people who are ensnared in the case of sexual violence for the former Ngada Police Chief. Furthermore, the NTT Regional Police will submit this case to the NTT prosecutor’s office because the case file has been declared complete.

As for the consequences of his actions, Fani was charged with the Criminal Act of Sexual Violence and Article 17 of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning Eradication of Person Trafficking Crimes (TPPO).

Previously, former Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma allegedly molested three children of the underage. The three children are 6 years old, 13 years old and 16 years.
