Constantine Wecker
He cancels all concerts for 2026
Konstantin Wecker is canceling his entire tour for 2026. The reason: his advanced illness.
The songwriter Konstantin Wecker (78) has canceled his tour planned for this year. A total of 54 performances were scheduled in various German and Austrian cities. There are health reasons behind the cancellation, as the 78-year-old explains in a statement.
“I’m so sorry – but unfortunately I have to cancel the tour that I was really looking forward to,” said Wecker. “I had hoped to recover, but unfortunately my illness has progressed. I would have loved to play my songs and read my book for you – but unfortunately it’s not possible for me.”
Konstantin Wecker suffers from nerve damage
Wecker announced in August 2025 that he was suffering from nerve damage in his left hand. Because of this, he is no longer able to play the piano. The background was years of alcohol abuse. In November he had already canceled several concerts, citing a neurological illness. “You can imagine how painful it is for me to no longer be able to sing for you after so many decades on stage,” says Wecker now.
But the songwriter doesn’t want to give up: “Let’s hope that my doctors will help me this year. Maybe I can return to the stage again for my 80th birthday.”
Most recently, Konstantin Wecker was criticized for his private life: an investigation by the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” revealed in November that he had a relationship with a minor at the age of 63.
