In the Kherson region, the rector of the Intercession Church in the village of Orlovo, Archpriest Georgy Gorbenko, was killed as a result of a Russian drone attack.

The Kherson diocese expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and called for prayer for the clergyman.
Reference: Archpriest Georgy Gorbenko was born on February 10, 1961 in Kherson. Since 1995, he served as a sexton in the Catherine Cathedral of Kherson. On March 7, 1998, he was ordained a deacon, and on April 26, 1998, a priest (Bishop of Kherson and Tauride Job).
He was the rector of the Intercession Church in the village of Bolshaya Kardashinka and the temple in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Zavodovka. On March 19, 2007, Archbishop John of Kherson and Tauride awarded him the pectoral cross.
On April 1, 2011, Gorbenko was transferred from the Novokakhovsk diocese to Kherson and sent to pastoral service in the Church of the Great Martyr Catherine in the village of Razdolnoye and the Church of the Holy Righteous Joachim and Anna in the village of Preobrazhenka.
On February 18, 2020, he was appointed rector of the Intercession Church in the village of Orlovo, and before Easter, Metropolitan John of Kherson and Tauride elevated him to the rank of archpriest.
