The Salieri Theater is preparing to welcome 2022 with a gospel concert that re-proposes the musical tradition of the southern United States between spirituality and more current sounds. Thursday 30 December at 8.45 pm the stage of the Legnaghese theater will be all for JP & the Soul Voices, a gospel group – four voices, piano, bass and drums – from Florida.
The leader and founder of the group, John “JP” Polk, is a pastor and gospel musician with experience both nationally and internationally. With the first nucleus it becomes the resident musical group in charge of animating the famous gospel brunches of the House of Blues in Orlando.
The great success of these events gives JP Polk the opportunity to create a uniquely male lineup, but it doesn’t stop there. Together with the group and his wife Zelda, another magnificent voice, he is regularly called to perform at Disney World where he is noticed by the gospel legends Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams who will then take them as choristers on their tours. JP & The Soul Voices have also had the privilege of collaborating with other top names, such as Dorinda, Clark Cole, Todd Dulaney, Jovonta Patton, LaRue Howard. John Polk, in addition to being a voice, is a great entertainer capable of involving his audience by creating an atmosphere of great celebration and joy.
