James Kelly: A Life Remembered in County Mayo

James Kelly, affectionately known as Jimmy, leaves behind an indelible mark on the community of Carrowbeg, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo. Born on September 13th, 1960, Jimmy was a proud resident of Monasteraden, Co. Sligo, in his younger years.

A Life Full of Love and Family

Jimmy’s journey was marked by love and family, which were central to his life. His relationship with his wife, Ann, and his children, Nicoli and Brendan, was one of profound connection. Jimmy’s siblings—Mary, Theresa, Genevieve, Hughie, Gabriel, John, Colm, Paul, and Anthony—were a testament to his close-knit family ties.

A Final Resting Place

On January 31st, 2025, Jimmy peacefully passed away, surrounded by his loved ones in the compassionate environment of the Mayo/Roscommon hospice in Castlebar. His passing deeply affected his family, whose hearts are still heavy with the loss.

Memorial Services and Tributes

Jimmy will be remembered through two heartfelt events organized to celebrate his life:

Viewing: Jimmy will repose in The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen, on Monday from 5pm until 7:30pm, providing a time for friends and family to gather together.

Funeral Service: The Christian Fellowship Church, The Mall, Castlebar, will host a Funeral Service at 12pm on Tuesday. Immediately following the service, there will be an interment in Cuilmore cemetery, Kilkelly, where Jimmy will be laid to rest alongside his cherished family members.
