Jakarta is Ready to Implement Micro Lockdown, Worst Scenario for Handling Covid-19

PEOPLE’S MIND – DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary, Marullah Matali revealed plans to implement micro lockdown as the worst-case scenario for handling Covid-19 in the capital city.

This was conveyed by Marullah Matali in the Coordination Meeting of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force on 27 June 2021 which was uploaded on the BNPB Pusdalops Youtube channel.

Jakarta is one of a number of regions experiencing a surge in Covid-19 cases at this time.

On Sunday, June 27, 2021, Jakarta recorded the highest number of daily additional cases of 9,394 cases. The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in Jakarta as of 27 June 2021 is 21,342 cases.

Marullah Matali has prepared various scenarios if the rate of spread of Covid-19 in Jakarta does not decrease.



“First run worst case scenario (worst case scenario). The first is the PPKM policy strictly on the orange and red zones with the micro concept lockdown,” call Marullah Matali.

Marullah Matali explained that there are many RT or RW in Jakarta whose houses are close to each other.

“That’s why there may be some red zones in certain RTs, while other RTs adjacent to the red zones are also forced to do restrictions with strict prokes (health protocols),” he said.
