Pedro Frazão shared a graph with which he intended to demonstrate that a “population replacement” is underway in our country. For the Chega deputy, the population in Portugal will be replaced by immigrants. Problem? The graph does not show any of this and immigrants make up only 7.5% of residents in Portugal.

Pedro Frazão shared this week, on the social network X, a graph that showed two overlapping age pyramids of the populations of Portuguese and foreign nationalities in Portugal. With this, the Chega deputy intended to demonstrate that a “population replacement” was underway in our country.

The “Great Replacement” is a racist, identitarian and conspiracist theory – disseminated by Renaud Camus, French writer, homosexual and supporter of conspiracy theories – which rejects the existence of two civilizations in the same country. According to this theory, if nothing is done, within 50 years, Muslims will be a majority in France and, in 100 years, the country will be an “Islamic republic”.
