Iran Protests: Regime Response to US Threats & Domestic Pressure

Little information is filtering from Iran, internet access having been cut since Thursday. New protests took place this weekend. The government announced that the main leaders had been arrested. For his part, Trump reiterated his threats of military intervention.

QWhat happened this weekend in Iran? Nobody really knows. The information coming out of the country was fragmentary to say the least, contact having been broken since the historic internet shutdown imposed last Thursday by the regime. The few foreign journalists on site, including those from Agence France-Presse (AFP), reported new demonstrations in different cities across the country, mainly during the night from Saturday to Sunday.
