For nearly a week, a class at La Grangette nursery school, in Thonon (Haute-Savoie), has been closed after one of the students tested positive for the British variant of Covid-19.
Information confirmed by the establishment and the Department of Haute-Savoie National Education Services (DSDEN 74).
Wearing a mask is not compulsory in kindergarten, all students in the class are compulsorily considered as contact cases and must stay at home for a period of seven days, as stipulated in the new health protocol of the National Education. The other classes remain open but vigilance is required.
Reopening scheduled for March 4
“All the families in the establishment have been informed. Precautionary measures have been put in place. If a student has symptoms, the family is asked not to put him in school, ”explains Mireille Vincent, academic director of the National Education services of Haute-Savoie (Dasen).
An email was sent to all the families by the school administration. “If you have the slightest doubt, please do not send your child to school and inform me so that I can tell you the procedure”, specifies the director of the school in the email sent to the families.
The closed class will reopen on Thursday March 4.
