Two US newspapers are looking for someone to follow (and report on) Taylor Swift and Beyoncé concerts: there’s a boom in applications

Gannett, the largest newspaper chain in the United States, has announced that it will hire two journalists to cover the concerts of these two international stars. The goal is to tell the meaning of their music and the effect that both singers are leaving on society.
In the job description for Beyoncé, Gannett said he was looking for a journalist who could tell how «the impact of the international superstar and icon is felt across generations” and how she has been “a force in everything from how countries’ opinions compete to how women think about their partners.”
As for the journalist who will cover Taylor Swift, the American outlet said that he will have to be able to «identify why the pop star’s influence spreads like wildfire and what his fan base represents in pop culture”.
