The Bavarian Ministry of Health defends the use of commercially available cool boxes for transporting the corona vaccine between vaccination centers and retirement and nursing homes. As this editorial team and the news magazine “Der Spiegel” reported, the ministry had procured 305 camping cool boxes, 93 of which were used when the vaccination began. In an e-mail to the editorial staff, the ministry spoke of “unusual circumstances” that would have led to the use of the boxes.
