The Frentropian riflemen would have loved to celebrate their rifle festival for three days on the last weekend in June. Instead, there was now a surprise for many families.
To protect the health of its members and guests during the corona pandemic, the board decided at the beginning of the year to cancel the shooting festival in 2021.
In order to create a shooting festival atmosphere at the end of June, the board members gave on Saturday with the support of the royal couple Franz III. Vortmann and Sabine I. Otys and his successor to the throne “Frentroper-Schützenfest-to-go-boxes” to the members – of course in compliance with the corona protection rules.
Tear dryer and dice game
In addition to typical drinks for the shooter and the shooter’s wife, the “Frentrop Box” consisted of streamers, balloons, a ballpoint pen, a song book, green and white wine gums, postcards with Frentrop motifs, a Frenti bottle opener and a pack of handkerchiefs (label: tear dryer, because the shooting festival is canceled). There was also a game block “City, Country, Frentrop Shooting Festival”, as well as a dice game sheet “Frentrop shooting parade for the home”, in which it goes from the old market to the marquee on Frentroper Straße – just as it should be for a Frentrop shooting festival .
Members who missed receiving their box can pick it up on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. or by arrangement from Fritz Schröer at Schillerstraße 24. Please remember the pick-up slip!
Members from Marl pick up Box in uniform
“We are happy that we were able to make a lot of shooting brothers and their families happy with our box,” says Fritz Schröer, chairman of the Frentrop shooting club. Some members even came in uniform to pick up their box. “In addition, green and white flags could be seen everywhere in Frentrop and Alt-Marl from Saturday to Monday,” added Fritz Schröer.
And the 2nd chairman Olaf Magnusson adds: “Of course we are all disappointed that we cannot celebrate a shooting festival this year.”
Wreath laid down
Before the gift boxes were handed out at Hof Wiebringhaus, the board members, the court and a flag delegation commemorated the deceased members of the association. They laid a wreath at the memorial at the church of St. George.
