As of January 13, students will receive the amount of 4,310 pesos.
In a post on Twitter, Luisa María Alcalde, Secretary of Labor announced the increase, also highlighted the complicated year due to the health situation of 2020. She took the opportunity to call on the beneficiaries to take advantage of the program.
Previously, the scholarship was 3,748 Mexican pesos.
In the publication, the head of the agency commented that the increase was an instruction from President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“We know that 2020 was a very complicated, very hard year, not only in our country but for the entire world due to the pandemic that we continue to face and that has impacted on the loss of employment, especially in the youth sector of our country. “, said Luisa María Alcalde.
