Still covered with umbilical cord and paper towels, the kittens lay on the gravel road.
Walkers made a gruesome find at the weekend. On the gravel road between Windpassinger Steg and Ponyhof Wörth, about 200 meters away, two dead kittens were still lying with their umbilical cord on their bodies. The animals were covered with a piece of kitchen roll.
Shelter manager Davor Stojanovic rules out that a cat threw the cubs there. “Cats look for a quiet, dark place,” he explains. He also cannot imagine that an animal abducted the kittens. He suspects that the animals have been put down and appeals together with the deputy chairman of the animal welfare association Thomas Kainz: “The castration of cats should be taken seriously.” The state of Lower Austria promotes the castration of stray cats.
