WWJ reporter Mike Campbell honored to find the missing woman with dementia

(Mike Campbell / WWJ)

Mike not only covered the story, he found the woman and called the police.

(WWJ) Congratulations to WWJ journalist Mike Campbell, who was honored by the Shelby Municipal Police tonight.

Campbell was telling a story in January about a 89-year-old missing woman with dementia who had left her home at 2:30 am.

The woman was wearing only pajamas and slippers when she disappeared. SEE DETAILS HERE.

Mike not only covered the story, he found the woman and called the police.

"This is the case of being in the right place at the right time," said a modest Campbell. "That said, it's great to be a part of it, it's beautiful, and it's nice to be recognized by the Shelby Township police department."

The ceremony is at 6:30 pm in the banquet hall of Palazzo Grande on Van Dyke.
