Silver Alert released for missing Mesa man with dementia

PHOENIX – A silver notice was released Tuesday afternoon after an elderly Mesa man with dementia disappeared.

Dennis Downey, 83, was last seen at 9:30 am, when he left his home near the streets of Ellsworth and Baseline, according to the Arizona Department of Public Security.

Downey was heading to Mountain Vista Medical Center at Southern Avenue and Crismon Road to have points removed from his head after a fall a few days before.

He was driving a red 2014 Nissan Rogue with a BGS6878 license plate and wearing a gray T-shirt with gray pants and black glasses.

Downey has 5 feet and 9 pounds and has green eyes and gray hair.

Anyone who had information about his location was invited to call the Missing Police Unit of the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211 or 480-349-1880.
