United States.- Scientists from the Scripps Institute, have revealed a study that treats alcohol addiction with the help of a laser beam.
The study published in the journal Nature Communications describes that you can reverse the urge to drink in alcoholic people with the simple engagement.
The researchers reported that in the study they used lasers to temporarily deactivate a certain neuronal population of the brain that is related to alcohol behavior.
This temporarily inhibits the cells responsible for wanting to drink alcohol, they even reduce the physical symptoms of abstinence.
To perform the experiment, rats were used, which previously induced an alcohol dependence for several months.
After this, the scientists withheld the rodents from the substance to demonstrate the symptoms of abstinence and thereby perform the laser practice.
