WASHINGTON – The singer R. Kelly has been detained on sexual abuse charges on Sunday, his lawyer said, having not yet published the bail.

A Chicago judge has secured a $ 1 million bond at a Saturday hearing – of which 10% must be paid, in this case $ 100,000.

But local media reported that Kelly did not and remained in detention.

"Exactly", Steve Greenberg, the musician's lawyer, answered an AFP question that his client was still in jail. R. Kelly has already spent 2 nights in detention.

Greenberg explained Saturday that his client was not as rich as his fame would suggest.

"This is someone who should be rich at this stage of his career, and through mismanagement, through the hooks and bad contracts and bad offers and bad contracts as he had in his studio, he actually has no money at this point", Ha called Greenberg.

R. Kelly was jailed on Friday with the charge of sexually abusing 4 victims, including 3 minors, between 1998 and 2010.
