Clark County Public Health officials say they have 21 confirmed cases of measles and four suspected cases, and have expanded the list of places where people may have been exposed.
Clark County Public Health officials said that people may have been exposed to measles in the following locations:
- Vancouver Clinic Columbia Tech Center, 501 SE 172nd Ave., Vancouver from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. Friday 11 January.
- Slavonic Christian Academy, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver, Monday 7 January.
- High School Evergreen, 14300 NE 18th St., Vancouver, Wednesday 9 January.
- GracePoint Christian Church, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. Monday 7 January.
The county officials have declared a public health emergency and are maintaining an updated list of possible exposure sites here. The list includes the meeting last Friday, January 11, Portland Trail Blazers against the Charlotte Hornets of the Fashion Center, which had more than 19,000 people.
The majority of cases so far – 16 – concern people aged 10 or younger. In at least 18 cases, the person who has contracted measles has not been immunized for this.
One person was admitted to the hospital.
Health officials say that anyone who has been exposed and believes they have symptoms of measles should contact their doctor before visiting the doctor to make sure others are not exposed.
