The artist Hamza Al-Aili expressed his full support for the artist Ahmed Refaat, after the latter’s post in which he revealed the reasons for his departure from the artistic scene during the past years, stressing that he had not received any nominations for 3 years.
Al-Aili posted on his Facebook account a message of solidarity in which he said: “The artist, brother and friend, the star Ahmed Refaat, and others of my dear, talented, professional colleagues, who have a respectable history of artistic works… They cannot sit for years without working. Take advantage of them, professors, and do not forget that acting is the only way for an actor to breathe; Its cessation is like the cessation of oxygen to a person.”
He added: “May God honor and provide for all my friends, colleagues, and all people, O Lord.”
The artist Ahmed Refaat had written: “I am dead. This is the only justification. He has made 300 series in 3 years and I am not among them or even nominated, even though all my work, praise be to God, has been witnessed by far and wide with respect and professionalism.”
Refaat’s statements received great support from a number of artists who stressed the necessity of reintroducing experienced artists and not marginalizing them.
