Accusations of Sexual Violence Led to Trial for Local Physician
A specialist doctor practicing in both Valdarno and Rome is set to stand trial on charges of sexual violence against a minor. The case centers around an alleged incident that occurred in the bathroom of a local gym. Judge Claudio Lara of the Court of arezzo has ordered the doctor to face a trial before a panel led by Judge Anna Maria Loprete,scheduled for next June. The doctor risks over 12 years in prison if convicted.
The Alleged Incident: A Saturday Morning at the Gym
the alleged assault reportedly took place on a Saturday morning, November 16th. The young man, an Aretine teenager, was at a city gym for a training session. After his workout, around 11:30 AM, he went to the locker room to shower. According to investigators, the teenager encountered a problem with the shower’s mixer. It is alleged that the doctor emerged from an adjacent shower stall, offering assistance.
The situation than allegedly escalated into violence. The doctor, reportedly naked, approached the young man and touched him inappropriately, including on his genitals. The teenager rebuffed the advances, after which, according to his statement to investigators, the doctor pleaded, Do not report me, I am married.
It was later discovered that the doctor was not, actually, married.
Legal Proceedings and Defense
Prosecutor Laura Taddei has requested the indictment of the specialist. In the aftermath of the alleged incident, the prosecution interviewed the boy (represented as a civil party by lawyers Tiberius Baroni and Simona Dolenti), his brother, parents, friends, and gym management. Investigators also analyzed communications between the teenager and his family, where he described the events.
The doctor, originally from Rome but residing in Arezzo, denies all accusations. He is being represented by lawyers Valentina and Fabrizio Castellano of the Rome Forum. The case will now proceed to a full trial, where all evidence and testimonies will be presented.
