For several days, the technical services have been in turmoil on the Way at Mayenne. After the installation of the poles for the shade sails by an Entrammes company, lampposts were put in place. The ground was leveled in places, signs were affixed as well as portraits of the traders of the city carried out by Julien Beaudet of Atelier photo. La Cale is about to come to life and it shows.
July 2 will kick off the animations on “this central place of the city which offers a strong potential, explains Pauline Collet, municipal councilor delegated to the animation of the city. It was not exploited until then. We hope that the result will be appreciated. »The official entertainment program will be released on Friday June 28th. It will be distributed in shops and at the town hall and relayed on the city’s social networks.
Guinguette during the day
From July 2 to September 19, Mayenne residents and people passing through will be able to enjoy a break at the La Cale tavern which will be held by two seasonal workers hired by the Union of traders and artisans of Mayenne.
It will be open during the day, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Thursday to Sunday so as not to compete with the bars of Mayenne
“The profits from the open-air café will be used to set up events with the traders”, underlines Pierre Delarue, sales manager. Only non-alcoholic drinks will be served, except on concert evenings (July 2, 14, 23 and September 17) where draft beer from the Cousin brewery in Pré-en-Pail will be served from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. A food truck will also be present for these concerts. “We are still looking for a food truck available for July 2 for Julien Granel’s inaugural concert at 9 pm”, slip the organizers.
Every Thursday evening, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., local producers will invest the Cale to present their products. “The Saint-Georges-Buttavent Amap will relocate all summer to La Cale, which will create a flow,” notes Florence from the Tourist Office.

Yoga classes will also be offered at the water’s edge in July. For young and old, and upon registration with professor Lise Martineau (06 72 58 73 28). There is a charge for the activity (free price between 5 and 10 €).
