Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love Plans to Face Detroit Lions Despite Groin Strain
Packers QB Determined to Suit Up Against Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love has expressed his determination to play, even with a groin strain. He displayed grit in his performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars, showing no signs of being held back by the injury.
"Ian Rapoport of NFL Network" revealed that Love is determined to take the field against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field this Sunday. According to Rapoport, Love only needs to be at 80-90 percent to start, meaning he won’t need full recovery.
Love Recovering From Groin Strain
Love suffered a groin strain during the third quarter of their match against Jacksonville. Despite the injury, he remained on the field for over two quarters before exiting due to the strain. Now, he’s working towards his goal of playing against the Lions.
Rapoport shared that Love is “determined to play,” and he thinks there’s a “really good chance” that Love will be available:
Ian Rapoport’s quote:
“It’s just a groin strain…”
“This is going to be a matter of doing rehab, getting treatment, working right up until game time, just seeing if he’s good enough to play.” He is determined to play. He does not need to be 100 percent to play. That makes me believe that he’s got a really good chance.”
Limited Practice Availability, Game-Time Decision Likely
The Packers have practice sessions scheduled for Wednesday. Given the injury, Love might skip practice days to ensure a faster recovery. His initial availability will be under a “questionable” listing in the final injury report on Friday.
If Love is out, Malik Willis – taking over at the start of this season – would likely start against the Lions. Willis has a win-loss record of 2-0 as the starter for the Packers.
Goal: 80-90% Fitness to Start
Coach Matt LaFleur is expected to keep Dover’s health status close-lipped this week. However, fans can anticipate a solid 80-90% fitness level for Love. An optimal showcase for Love is a responsible stamping out against the Chicago Bears in Week 11, post-bye week.
After a week of recovery, Love should return to peak form and face the challenging Chicago Bears in Week 11.
