The Ministry of Health claims there is no communication problem if there is an AEFI.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Covid-19 vaccination program for health workers (health workers) is still running. The plan for phase II vaccination for groups of public service workers and the elderly (seniors) will start running February 17, 2021.
The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) ensures that the cost of medical care due to the aftermath of the Covid-19 immunization (KIPI) is borne by the government. “If later after receiving Covid-19 vaccination then experience health problems or there is a follow-up incident after immunization (KIPI), then the government will ensure that the government will pay for the financing in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations,” said Acting Director General of Prevention and Control. Disease Ministry of Health Maxi Rein Rondonuwu during a virtual conference on Covid-19 vaccination for public service workers and the elderly, Monday (15/2).
To anticipate the emergence of KIPI, he continued, the government has included a health service contact number. He explained, when a person has received immunizations at the observation desk at a health care facility, then he or she gets an immunization card. After the immunization card was printed, he continued, the immunization card already contained the health service contact person number.
So, the Ministry of Health claims there are no communication problems in the event of an AEFI. On the other hand, the Ministry of Health also reminded that despite receiving immunizations, 3M’s health protocol, namely washing hands, wearing masks, and maintaining distance must be carried out with discipline.
“Even though they have been vaccinated, the possibility of being exposed to the virus is still there but it will not be severe. The way is to implement health protocols,” he said.
He admits that the application of this health protocol can also prevent transmission of the virus to other people.
