[AI+Gemini]Google Gemini 3.25 has been fully lifted in Hong Kong and the actual test has been successfully launched! Find out the most powerful features and free vs paid differences in one article! (Attached with opening schedule)

Gemini is fully lifted! Google announced on March 16 that it will gradually open its flagship generative AI tool Gemini to all users in Hong Kong, ending the long-standing restriction that Hong Kong users have to rely on VPN or Google Workspace accounts to access. This opening covers multimodal functions such as text, voice, and video, and is expected to significantly change the work and life patterns of local users.

As of the evening of March 26, Gemini has officially landed on the Hong Kong App Store, and users can download it directly without switching regions. As for Android users, they can currently use Gemini-related functions through Google Assistant.

Yu Mingde, General Manager of Sales and Operations of Google Hong Kong, announced on March 26 that, following the web version of Gemini, the Gemini mobile App experience is gradually being extended to all users in Hong Kong. Adhering to Google Hong Kong’s commitment of “working together to create Hong Kong’s future”, Gemini has become everyone’s exclusive AI assistant.

On the evening of March 25, I logged in to https://gemini.google.com/app with my Google account and was able to successfully use Gemini without VPN.

Gemini allows users to directly apply Google’s advanced AI models to assist with daily tasks, including writing complex emails, generating ideas for personal plans, and even planning family trips. As a multi-modal tool, Gemini brings more possibilities for people to interact with information through text, images and voice.

Breaking through text limitations: introducing multi-modal audio and video generation technology

Gemini brings comprehensive “multi-modal” processing capabilities. In addition to conventional word processing, logical reasoning and data analysis, a number of advanced audio and video generation tools have been introduced:

  • Image generation and editing: Using the latest Nano Banana 2 model (official name Gemini 3 Flash Image), it supports text generation, image synthesis, style conversion and fine editing.
  • High-definition video generation: Equipped with the Veo model, users can directly generate high-definition videos through text commands, and can automatically add native sound effects (the system has built-in security mechanisms to filter inappropriate content).
  • Music production: Through the Lyria 3 model, the system can generate high-quality music of up to 30 seconds, and supports automatic lyrics and real-person singing in multiple languages.

(Some advanced generation tools require advanced paid versions/subject to the latest official version)

Gemini Live: real-time voice and visual sharing interaction

Another focus of this update is Gemini Live (real-time conversation mode) exclusive to the mobile App version. This function changes the traditional AI text box question and answer format, providing natural and real-time voice two-way communication, allowing users to interrupt and supplement at any time during the conversation.

In addition, Gemini Live has a “visual sharing” function. Users can share their mobile phone footage or screen, allowing AI to “see” physical objects or screen content (such as product parts or foreign language menus) in real time, and provide real-time voice guidance and answers.

Free version vs. paid version: differences in functionality and ecosystem integration

In response to different user needs, Google divides the basic free version (Basic Tier) and the advanced paid version (AI Plus/Pro/Ultra).

  • In addition to the more powerful Gemini 3.1 Pro model, the advanced paid version also has the ability to fully and deeply integrate Google applications:
  • Ecosystem linkage: Can be linked to Google Calendar to assist in arranging personal itineraries and planning travel routes; and in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for cross-App collaboration, data analysis and content creation.
  • In fact, the biggest difference is the usage quota
