General Dynamics IT to Bolster U.S. Special Operations Command with $396 Million Contract

FALLS CHURCH – General Dynamics Details Technology (GDIT) has been awarded a $396 million contract to support the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), the company announced.The contract, awarded in april, covers enterprise IT services for Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions globally.
The Information Technology Enterprise contract includes a one-year base period with four option years. GDIT, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, will leverage its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to improve operational effectiveness and decision-making for SOF. The company will also focus on migrating SOF to a multicloud environment and implementing zero trust solutions to bolster cybersecurity.
“Modern warfare is constantly evolving, and enhancing SOF’s digital capabilities is critical to mission success,” saeid brian Sheridan, GDIT’s senior vice president for defense. “We look forward to delivering a cutting-edge IT network that ensures our elite military units are connected to the intelligence they need to stay ahead in every mission.”
In February 2024, GDIT secured a $493 million task order to provide technical and mission services to SOCOM and its partners, demonstrating a continued partnership. General Dynamics, the parent company, employs over 110,000 people worldwide and reported $47.7 billion in revenue for 2024. The company ranked No. 96 on the 2025 Fortune 1000 list. GDIT itself has approximately 30,000 employees operating in more than 50 countries.

Enhancing Special Operations Through Technology
The contract highlights the increasing importance of technology in modern military operations. GDIT’s work will focus on several key areas, including AI-driven decision support, cloud migration, and cybersecurity enhancements.
