Jakarta—The Health Ministry of Indonesia recently unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving the overall health of its citizens. Dubbed the Free Health Check program, it will be available to all inhabitants starting February 10. “For schoolchildren and teenagers, the program will be implemented in schools, beginning in July, at the start of the new academic year,” according to Aji Muhawarman, head of the ministry’s Communication and Public Service Bureau.

Here’s a breakdown of the medical examination packages for different age groups:

• Elementary School Students: 11 types of medical examinations
• Junior High School Students: 13 types of medical examinations
• Senior High School Students: 12 types of medical examinations

Infants, toddlers, adults, and the elderly can access the health checks starting February 10 from over 10,000 community health centers, known as puskesmas, spread across Indonesia.

The government has ambitious plans to expand the Free Health Check program to include other primary health facilities, such as private clinics in partnership with the state health insurance provider, BPJS Kesehatan.

Citizens can register for the program in various ways:

• Mobile Application: Using the Satu Sehat Mobile app
• Online: Via the Health Ministry’s WhatsApp call center
• In Person: By bringing your identity card to a designated puskesmas
