The Dalí Foundation proposes four digital actions to celebrate Sant Jordi. As reported in a statement, the goal is to “accompany users of all ages” during the day in confinement. The first action is one collective reading of texts written by Salvador Dalí and Gala which can be chosen from their respective youth diaries, ‘The Secret Life of Salvador Dalí’ or ’50 magical secrets to paint ‘. The Foundation encourages participants to be Dalí’s voice, record a video while reading aloud the chosen text and upload it to the stories Instagram with the hashtag #DaliBooks and the hashtag @museudali. The profile will share them.
To encourage participation, the director of the Center for Dalinian Studies, Montse Aguer, and other members of the Dalí Foundation will collaborate with the reading.
The second action is one “love postcard to give to your loved one”, which can be downloaded from the Dalí Foundation website.
In addition, they will show from photographs what the Dalí library in Portlligat is like and what the Dalí Studies Center in Figueres is like, where they are preserved. the original books of the surrealist genius which are available to researchers. The intention is for the audience to comment on their reading habits: what is their reading moment, what book has accompanied them over the years, what are their literary heroes or heroines, what is their favorite place to read or , if, like Dalí, they make notes or illustrations on the pages.
Finally, the members of the Dalí Foundation will do recommendations for reading both books written by Dalí as publications of the same institution. They will also encourage users to share their favorite readings.
The Dalí Foundation values this type of digital action positively, which aims to offer learning and entertainment tools to mitigate the current concern and uncertainty.
