They acted on hooligan motives
Four men, two of whom are minors, have been detained for 72 hours in Targovishte for the murder of a 51-year-old man from the village of Podgorica. District Prosecutor Dilyana Stoyanova announced today that the prosecutor’s office is about to ask the court to keep them permanently in custody.
The four were charged with murder, committed in a manner particularly painful for the victim and with particular cruelty on hooligan motives – a crime under Article 116, para. 1, item 6 and item 11 of the Penal Code.
The accused in the murder are three from the village of Ralitsa, Targovishte region – a 50-year-old man and his 26-year-old son, as well as their 16-year-old neighbor. The fourth accused is 15 years old, a neighbor of the murdered man from the village of Podgorica. The 26-year-old man is a criminal, he returned from prison a few months ago, where he was serving a sentence for theft in a village shop. The boy from Podgorica lived with his aunt in Ralitsa and was in the same company with the other minor, as well as with the older ones.
The case is from Tuesday night. The victim has been visiting the home of a family of cowboys in the village of Ralitsa since Saturday. However, his hosts have nothing to do with his death. After dinner, they went to look after the cows they cared for. At that moment, the two minors arrived at the house first and started beating the man from Podgorica. Shortly afterwards, the other two defendants joined them. Like a criminal brigade, the men and boys attacked the guest from Podgorica and killed him with fists and kicks. It was later established that the dead man had a severe craniocerebral trauma and multiple broken ribs.
It is believed that the four had previously agreed on how to act, as they had previously consumed alcohol.
After killing him, the bullies tried to hide the man’s body by driving him about 500 meters outside the village. It was opened the next day.
Investigators believe the attackers acted on hooligan motives, but the investigation has yet to prove the reasons for this malice. All the accused have no permanent job and are constantly wandering around the village, they say about them in Ralitsa. There is also no logical explanation for what happened.
A press release from today to the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office in Varna about the murder says that the work on the investigation continues, the motives for the brutal murder are clarified, as well as the details about the case. The pre-trial proceedings were transformed into an investigative case due to the fact that two of the perpetrators were under the age of majority.
