British Minister of Health Matt Hancock, at the heart of government action against the pandemic, resigned on Saturday for violating restrictions against Covid by maintaining an affair with an adviser, spread in all the media.
For its part, it is dismay for Matt Hancock’s wife, Martha, who thought their marriage was “happy and stable” and was even friends on Facebook with her husband’s mistress, the Sun reveals.
Martha had no idea her husband of 15 years was having an affair until he told her Thursday night and informed his wife that their marriage was over.
Friends of the family told the Daily Mail that the revelation came as a shock to Martha, who believed their marriage was “happy and stable” and had no suspicions about Gina Coladangelo.
Like her husband, she had met Gina Coladangelo at the University of Oxford – and the couple had become friends on Facebook.
In crisper detail, the Daily Mail also reported today that Gina Coladangelo and her husband Oliver Tress, the founder of Oliver Bonas, celebrated Christmas with the Hancock family she was close to.
Matt Hancock finally bowed to pressure to resign from his post at the Health Cabinet and publicly said: “I would like to reiterate my apologies for breaking the guidelines and apologizing to my family and loved ones for doing this to them. I also need to be with my kids right now. “
He admitted he had “let down” the millions of people who made sacrifices during the pandemic after he was filmed kissing assistant Gina Coladangelo.
