A Victory for Health and Solidarity
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is celebrating a significant achievement by its running club, MOFA Runners, at the recent Franco Phone Running Competition held on March 29th. This victory underscores the ministry’s commitment to promoting health, wellness, and camaraderie among its employees.
Extraordinary Performance on the Course
Fifteen dedicated members of MOFA Runners showcased the results of their rigorous training, with all participants completing the challenging 10km race. Nguyen Tan Tung led the team, crossing the finish line in an extraordinary 44 minutes, securing 11th place overall out of 250 participants. Five other team members also completed the race in under an hour, demonstrating the club’s overall strength and dedication.
this will be a great encouragement to the entire runner club with the players who participate in the competition.
Labor Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Labor Union Support and Growing Interest
The runners where greeted at the finish line by enthusiastic members of the Labor Union, including its chairman, highlighting the union’s strong support for the running club and its activities. As its establishment, the Labor Union has consistently supported various initiatives, fostering a culture of health and well-being within the ministry. This event is expected to further boost interest in running and other sports among diplomatic employees, recognizing the mental and physical benefits of regular exercise. According to a recent study by the World Health Organization, regular physical activity can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
Looking Ahead: Ministry’s 80th Anniversary Sports Week
Building on this success, the Foreign Ministry’s running club is gearing up to host a running competition as part of the sports week commemorating the ministry’s 80th anniversary (August 28, 1945 to August 28, 2025). The competition will feature two events: a 7.5km individual race and a 2.5km individual/family fun run.Participants can look forward to exciting prizes and surprises.
Strengthening Bonds Through Sport
This upcoming event aims to further promote club activities,strengthen solidarity and friendship among union members,and contribute to a positive and healthy work habitat within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry recognizes the importance of fostering strong relationships among its employees, and sporting events like these provide an excellent chance to build camaraderie and teamwork.
About MOFA Runners
Established on May 27, 2021, MOFA Runners comprises 130 members from various departments both domestically and internationally.Guided by the motto of “fun, health, and connection,” the club actively promotes cooperation and exchange through participation in numerous sporting events both at home and abroad. Currently, club members are actively involved in the “Kind of Million Steps – Golden History” running campaign, demonstrating their commitment to fitness and community engagement.
The club consistently supports sports activities organized by the Ministry of foreign Affairs,including events hosted by the French Embassy,such as French runs,as well as ministry-led initiatives like “Running for Love” and pleasant races between departments.
