Finnian Garbutt (28), known as a police officer in the BBC series “Hope Street”, has been fighting a tough battle against cancer for a long time.
Now the actor shares a heartbreaking update with his followers on Instagram.
Lately he has been struggling with severe pain in his back and hip, he tells his followers openly. After new examinations, he has been told that the cancer has “developed rapidly”.
“I’m posting this because it’s hard to tell people individually. I am now entering the last phase of my life”, he writes, adding that he will “now enjoy the time with family and friends”.

The actor thanked his fans for supporting him and his family. In a follow-up post, he shared a link to a fundraiser for his wife Louise and their one-year-old daughter Saoirse.

“All I want is for my wife and little baby to have the life they deserve, and I wanted to be the one to give them that, which unfortunately is no longer possible,” he writes on Instagram.
The 28-year-old learned the cancer was fatal just two weeks before Saoirse was born. The cancer had then spread to the liver and lungs.
Since he was diagnosed four years ago, he has achieved several of his major life goals, including playing in 30 episodes of a TV series, having the lead role in a film, buying his own house, getting married and becoming a father, he concludes.
