Federal President Guy Parmelin sets up a search committee

Bern, 11/25/2021 – Federal President Guy Parmelin has set up a search committee to look for the successor to Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch at the head of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The commission will evaluate suitable candidacies and present them to the head of the Federal Department of Economics, Education and Research (EAER). The election is made by the Federal Council.

State Secretary Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch announced her resignation for the end of July 2022 at the end of August 2021. The position is advertised publicly. With around 800 employees, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs is the federal government’s center of competence for economic policy. We are looking for a leader who has, among other things, professional experience and networks in politics, business, associations and institutions.

  • Giorgio Behr, entrepreneur, professor emeritus University of St. Gallen
  • André Berdoz, Vice President of the Swiss Trade Association and entrepreneur
  • Christoph Brutschin, former member of the cantonal government and president of the VDK
  • Roland Eberle, former Council of States (SVP / TG)
  • Serge Gaillard, former Director of the Federal Finance Administration and Director of the Labor Directorate at SECO
  • Eva Jaisli, member of the Swissmem committee and entrepreneur
  • Vasco Pedrina, former Unia and SGB co-president
  • Daniel Wüthrich, Head of HR WBF
