Facebook’s services crashed again on Friday afternoon, after one of the longest outages in the company’s history on Monday.

“We are aware that some people have difficulty accessing our applications and products,” the company tweeted. “We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, also admitted on Twitter to have “problems”, promising to work “as quickly as possible” to fix them.

“These repeated failures could raise concerns about the reliability and security of the application,” commented TechCrunch, a technology industry news site.

Friday’s outage was due to configuration changes, which affected people around the world, but it was unrelated to Monday’s outage, he added.

The October 4 blackout, which affected all of Facebook’s services, including WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, was caused by configuration changes to routers in Facebook’s data centers.
