Evil Dead Requiem Producer at Taipei Game Show | 4Gamers

The Taipei International Game Show is the busiest Saturday. In the afternoon, the main stage of the Taipei International Game Show held a grand promotion stage event for Capcom’s “Requiem for the Evil Dead”, which will be released on the 27th of next month. Game producer Xiong Ze Yaden was specially invited to share the features and charm of the new game with all players and fans.

Masato Kumazawa, the producer of Resident Evil Requiem, not only visited the Taipei Game Show for the first time, but also set foot in Taiwan for the first time. He directly greeted all players and fans in the audience in Chinese at the beginning, and revealed that the game uses dual protagonists to allow players to enjoy the refreshing feeling of overcoming the fear of survival during the game.

In order to achieve these two points, the game has designed two completely different protagonists, namely FBI analyst Grace and series popular character Leon.

Grace faces zombies for the first time in the setting, emphasizing facing the fear of death from a newcomer’s perspective, allowing new players to experience the most original horror atmosphere of the “Evil Dead Series”; Leon, as a veteran who has been fighting against the Resident Evil series for decades, provides powerful firepower and gorgeous physical attacks, returning to the thrill of action shooting in the 4th, 5th, and 6th generations, and in the story, he feels frustrated that the world cannot see the dawn of peace.

At the event, simple operation clips of the two protagonists were also shown, demonstrating the main features of the series. First of all, in terms of the initial setting, the game can be selected between first and third person this time, allowing players to play from the perspective they are most accustomed to. This is also to prepare for the fact that the zombies in this game will have basic wisdom and present a high degree of unknown.

In terms of combat, Leon has full firepower. In addition to using various firearms to attack, he also inherited the physical attack from “Evil Dead 4”, using shooting to force zombies to stand upright, and then destroying enemies efficiently with gorgeous kicks, hand axes, and gun fighting skills.

Interestingly, if the enemy holds a weapon, it may drop it during the attack. Players and enemies can pick it up and use it. A small number of weapons may become a factor in the battle even if they are on the ground. For example, after a chainsaw is dropped, it will not stop functioning, and if zombies are close, it will cause them to be harmed.

Grace will get a “Requiem” revolver from Leon at the beginning of the game, echoing the game’s name. However, there is only one bullet in it. In addition, Grace is not good at fighting and relies more on stealth and environmental mechanisms to survive.

Facing the scarcity of resources, Grace can use the extractor to absorb the blood stains left on the ground by enemies, and combine it with other props picked up to form recovery medicine, ammunition and other supplies.

As for the main story, Xiong Zeyaden said that the story is designed to provide science education to new players, so don’t worry about not understanding it. If you want to catch up on the game before it is released, you can consider playing “Castle of Evil 2 Remastered” and “Castle of Evil 3 Remastered”. You will be able to experience the origin of the return event in the new game and more ingenuity and details in the design of Raccoon City.

The game is expected to be released on February 27. The pre-order bonus for the standard version will receive Grace’s “Doomsday” costume; the deluxe version will receive five sets of costumes, including Jean-Leon’s classic leather jacket look in “Castle 4” and Grace dressed as the vampire Countess Dimitrescu from “Castle 4”.

In addition, the Switch 2 versions of “Castle 7”, “Castle 7” and “Castle 4” will be released on the same day, as well as the “Castle 4 Requiem” co-branded Switch 2 Pro wireless controller. It is also announced that Grace’s Amiibo will be launched this summer.
