The first, already in the bag. The EUMC Basketball Valladolid signed a great debut against CB Toledo and opened the 2025/2026 course winning and leaving good feelings. Those of David Barrio, from less to a set that played their first official match in the competition, surpassed the casualties (those of Pau Carreño and Pau Ierner) and completed a convincing, serious and solid premiere to inaugurate the locker of victories. The American pair formed by Hanna and Haney, who burst the game with four consecutive triples and 23 points to give the tip, differential to achieve the first joy of the campaign.
At the start, yes, it cost carbure, and it was a game gestated over low heat, but with speed on the track. Far from signing a good start, the EUMC Basketball Valladolid, erratic and with problems to close the rebound that then solved, saw the first change. Visitor Iñaki Álvarez began the inspired clash and hit two triples and another basket of two, eight consecutive points, to lead the first getaway of the Toledo team (2-10) against very failed squirrels.
The entrance of Sam Taiwo improved the face of the Valladolid and three baskets followed with their signature cut part of the rent (8-10). And from there the improvement was constant, especially in the rebound. Better planted behind Pucela, a new palm of the Hungarian post, which ended the first period with eight goals, put the draw (14-14) and corrected the bad start of the purple. That equality remained and both sets ended the first act still tied (20-20).
From less to more, the UEMC Basketball Valladolid continued to grow and exceeded the initial nerves with an increasingly convincing performance. Already solved the problems in the rebound (22-13 in the first part, clear purple domain) and closing the own hoop, a triple of Fares Ochi, a new basket after bouncer of Pablo Martín and a ‘two plus one’ from Iñaki Ordóñez fired the Pucela (27-22).
Sergio Vicente, the visiting coach, stopped him with dead time and his CB Toledo was reactivated, resuming the march with two triples and breaking the blockade in those 22 goals. David Barrio had now to cut that reaction and achieved it by the hand of a multi -row Iñaki Ordóñez who does everything and everything well and the American artillery ‘Ice’ Haney and Hanna, outstanding differential sys in the premiere. The Pucela, thus, responded perfectly and took distance again until reaching the break with ten advantage (42-32).
Haney, triggered, puts the lace
After the row time, the Toledo, just like at the beginning, signed a better staging against an UMC Basketball Valladolid that stuck. A new triple of Iñaki Álvarez and another basket of his (his point number 18) shot the Manchego after many minutes rowing (47-44) and David Barrio was forced to ask for dead time. I had to adjust after scoring only five points in five minutes of play and granting a partial of 5-14.
There emerged the figure of Jacob Hanna, dominating on both sides of the court and throughout the match (he ended with a +/- 24). The American signed five consecutive and put in bonus to CB Toledo to open a new route of annotation for the Castilians (53-48). And put in trouble the Manchego in a meeting very marked by the two casualties of the premises and the rotation of nine visitors. With four minutes in the chrono and before a team already touched and exhausted by the short rotation, the EUMC Basketball Valladolid did not lower the defensive piston until sealing, without shocks and with official minutes for Juan Rodríguez Neri, debutant in the second Feb, the first win of the season (83-71).
The EUMC Basketball Valladolid will face its first departure next weekend and visit the Achieveasket Logi7 on Sunday, October 12 at 5:30 p.m.
