YouTuber, a popular beauty, came out as a transgender woman to her 12 million subscribers with a touching video.
Nikkie de Jager, known online as NikkieTutorials, revealed that her YouTube channel was created while she was in transition and thanked her mother for supporting her from the “first day.”
The Dutch star, who has worked with Jessie J and Lady Gaga, posted the video online Monday with the title ‘I’m dating’.
She said she had been blackmailed by people who threatened to filter her story, so she decided to make the video come out on her own terms.
“Today I am here to share with you something that I always wanted to share with you one day, but under my own circumstances, and it seems that this opportunity has been taken away from me,” said the 25-year-old. .
“So today, I’m regaining my own power and I have to tell you something.”
Nikkie said “he never felt comfortable with labels” but that he wanted to live “without any rules,” and added: “I want to start the year with the truth.”
“When I was younger, I was born in the wrong body, which means I’m transgender,” Nikkie revealed.
“It’s so surreal to say this. Filming this video is scary, but it feels so liberating and liberating. I’ve been looking forward to sharing this side of me with all of you for so long, but I could never understand the moment.”
Nikkie began to identify herself as a girl from the age of six when her hair grew, and said at school “some children understood it and other children in my class did not.”
Next, she thanked her school’s teachers who supported her and revealed that she has been taking hormones since she was 14, in addition to using “growth switches,” before making the total transition at 19.
Nikkie is committed to Dylan and it is said that the couple is working on the situation in private, preferring to keep their relationship out of public focus.
“I am me,” he said. “I’m still Nikkie. Nothing changes about that.
“The last thing I want in my life is that you don’t trust me anymore, that you look at me with different eyes, that you look at me in another way or that you think I’ve changed.”
She added: “This feels liberating and liberating, but I, at the end of the day, am still Nikkie.”
Nikkie said he hopes his story will inspire others to be themselves.
“You are in charge of how you want to live your life.”
