The network confirms the return of Connie Britton
Last week, TVLine confirmed that Britton would be repeating her role as the operator of 911 Abby for a period of several episodes. Britton only played the role of the first season, since he only had a one-season contract.
Jennifer Love Hewitt joined the cast as the new operator from season two.
When Britton left for the first time, the series’ executive producer, Ryan, Murphy, hoped he could return to the show from time to time.
“We are in the process of renegotiating your deal so you can enter and do a couple of episodes to keep your character alive.” She really loves the cast and crew and is very hopeful that that can happen, “he said.
What Britton’s screen love interest says
Oliver Stark, who plays Britton’s ex-boyfriend, Buck, was asked about Britton’s return on the Press Critics Association’s press tour and couldn’t help thinking about what could happen.
The actor said: “I think it’s really difficult. Many people in that first season fell in love with the relationship between Buck and Abby, so it was really hard to replace. And Buck has had a lot of growth since then.
He continued, “[Moving forward, it will be] about finding the right partner for him. Many people have different ideas about who it could be, if they are already in the program. I do not know what [Abby’s return] medium. I don’t know what will wake up that. But he makes fun of things, which is always fun. ”
It is not clear the exact number of episodes in which Britton will appear or when those episodes will be aired.
9-1-1, It also stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Rockmond Dunbar and Ryan Guzman. It airs on Mondays at 8 p.m.
