It has been known for weeks that Holly Willougby leaves the bank of This Morning for the Australian jungle, while she is co-hostess of I & # 39; m A Celebrity, but now it seems that her replacement is in line.
Christine Lampard, who is now going to give birth to her first child with husband Frank, comes on as the front runner to keep Phillip Schofield company for six weeks.
It is reported that ITV bosses hope that the 39-year-old will shorten maternity leave to participate in the morning show.
It is expected that Christine, if she agrees, shares the role with another presenter with partner Phil.
An insider told the mirror: "Christine is the first natural choice because she and Phil work together so well, both on and off the screen.
"Everyone has crossed his fingers because she is such a nice person to work with – and the viewers love her too."
Holly takes a break from the ITV day show to qualify for Ant McPartlin, who has taken a year off to solve his addiction problems.
She will present together with the new father Declan Donnelly, whose daughter Isla arrived this month.
Schofield, 56, told last year how he and his wife Steph, Holly and husband Dan Baldwin and Christine and footballer Frank often socialize.
"What I want everyone to realize is that she is not only an incredibly accomplished broadcaster, but also one of the nicest people I've ever met in my life," he said about Christine.
In recent years the pregnant star has been a regular panel member at ITV's Loose Women and also guest speaker of Morning Show Lorraine.
She married Lampard in 2015 and became stepmother to his two daughters Luna, 12 and 11-year-old Isla in the process.
She has not discovered the sex of her baby, but suspects she is carrying a girl.
