The co-founder of Too Faced dismisses his sister for a transphobic comment

Jerrod Blandino, co-founder and creative director of beauty brand Too Faced Cosmetics, fired his sister after “transphobic” comments addressed to beauty vlogger Nikkie de Jager, also known as NikkieTutorials.

On Tuesday, the popular beauty YouTuber revealed that it is transgender in a powerful video posted on his channel, titled ‘I’m dating.’

The revelation was the last power movement of the Dutch YouTuber who was forced to make the announcement prematurely after she was blackmailed by people who threatened to filter her story to the press.

“It was scary to know that there are people who are so evil that they cannot respect someone’s true identity,” he revealed in the 17-minute video that he has had more than 26 million views.

What followed was a lot of support from beauty fans, vloggers and the LGBT + community. But the screenshots show Blandino’s sister, what’s up Dani California @makupprincess on Instagram: He criticized De Jager in a comment posted on his Instagram bio, which was later deleted.

“Transgender, huh? That is not the only thing I LIE about,” said Blandino’s sister’s biography. It was picked up by Twitter users who criticized the beauty brand for their comments.

Blandino was forced to address the controversy through the brand’s social networks, announcing that his sister is no longer a member of the Too Faced team.

“I would like to make sure that it is understood that although I love my sister very much, the things she says or does have absolutely nothing to do with me and does not in any way reflect my opinions, thoughts or feelings, nor speak for me or Too Faced of any form or form, “he wrote.

“I have always defended love, equality and kindness in my life and everything I do. I regret the damage it has caused.”

“Let it be known that I am really shocked and disgusted with my recent actions. I do not tolerate this behavior and is no longer a Too Faced employee.”

Blandino finished his post with a message of support for NikkieTutorials after his announcement.

“I would like to say how proud I am of the Nikkie Tutorials and how inspired I am for his strength and for sharing his beautiful truth with the world. I send him all my love.”
