She continued: “ We are delighted to announce plans for a second season before the series debut, and we are confident that Star Trek fans and new viewers will be captured by the meticulously crafted story of the star cast and the creative team when premieres on January 23.
While the network has not yet announced when the second season is scheduled to air, sources told Deadline that it would probably be 10 episodes later this year or early next.
Star Trek: Picard will be released worldwide on Amazon Prime Video and on CBS All Access in the United States, on January 23, 2020.
