As a new series of Love Island begins, a completely new group of aspiring reality stars dominates the screens, with a new collection of faces and names to memorize.

But this year brought an additional challenge in the form of 20-year-old twins, Jess and Eve Gale, and not only the spectators struggled to discover who was who, while their fellow islanders struggled to notice the difference.

However, their secret was revealed when the brothers revealed a disparity during Monday’s episode.

The revelation came when Mike Boateng, 24, chatted with both ladies at the same time and pointed to Eve wrongly by guessing: ‘Let me try and do it right … Jess?’

Both girls laughed at him and said no, Eve then revealed: ‘Jess has a blue eye and a green eye.’

While this could help children to know who they are really united with, it is still difficult to know when they watch on TV screens at home.

The drama began on Monday night when the bomb twins were forced to join, which means that two women would be vulnerable.

Jess chose to rob Mike of Leanne Amaning, 22, while Eve chose to rob Callum Jones, 23, of Shaughna Phillips, 25.

Before announcing his decision, Jess said: “It is not a good position to be. You are all united.” But we are here for us, and you have to be selfish in this situation and go with who you want to go with.

‘Since I came here, this guy showed some interest and compliments me, what I like, and I would be interested to see where I could get. “Then the boy I would like to join is Mike.”
