Look at Taylor Swift, other stars embrace their inner feline in the first trailer for "Cats"

Listen, if you don't know the musical "Cats", get ready. This could be a little weird.

The trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of the famous Broadway show was released early Thursday afternoon and features Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Jason Derulo and other stars like, well, the cats. Only in place of the elaborate costumes and make-up seen in the theater, this group of felines is digitally altered. The result? Meow!

The group showcases their ability to sing and dance in the film, directed by Tom Hooper. "Cats" also presents the hit ballad "Memory", performed by Hudson and made famous by Barbra Streisand.

This marks the main role of the film for Swift, which previously had small parts in films like "Valentine's Day" and "The Donor".

The trailer arrives a few days after the release of a video that offers a first look at Cats, showing the cast that is dancing in plain clothes.
