King & # 39; s Island: Ohio theme park unveils Orion, a & # 39; giga roller coaster & # 39; with a fall of 300 feet

King & # 39; s Island amusement park in Ohio unveils its newest ride, Orion, next spring – with a fall of 300 feet.

That qualifies it as a "giga" roller coaster, one of only seven in the world with a fall between 300 and 399 feet, according to King & # 39; s Island.

After that first fall, the ride has seven hills, speeds as high as 91 mph, and more than a mile of track.

Orion becomes the longest, fastest and longest roller coaster in the park and lasts three minutes.

King & # 39; s Island, which says it's the largest amusement and water park in the Midwest, is also home to the world's longest wooden roller coaster, The Beast. And until Orion opens, visitors can still ride the Diamondback, which is 230 feet long with a first fall of 215 feet.
