The radio announcer asked if he thought the couple could reconcile, to which he replied: ‘I would love that to happen, but I don’t know …
‘I would love to be the man she needs, I would love to do all the things that make this work. I want to marry her, I want to have her children.
‘I was walking through my kitchen, I walked up and down for days thinking … damn it … this reckless night. You … all those things brother; Marriage, children, the love of my life.
‘You’ve put all those things in [risk], and now look, you probably never will … you’ve lost that. You know what I mean? You have lost that.

Stormzy and Maya began dating in January 2015 after meeting the previous year.
The former couple separated last summer, claiming they had separated to focus on their respective careers, with Maya moving out of the house they shared in southwest London.
In his song from the album Lessons, Stormzy said that the way he treated Maya was his “greatest regret” and admitted that he shed the greatest love he had ever met when they separated.
Speaking on the BBC Radio 1Xtra Breakfast Show about the emotional break-up song, he said: ‘That is something we share and is in a public forum, everything happened in a public way.

‘It was a hot topic and now I’m going to record and I apologize. I am trying to expose everything and be very sincere and be very clear in my truth. I am not trying to avoid it.
‘It was a lack of public respect. It was a lack of public respect that needed a public apology.
He continued: ‘That girl gave me the world. With all my heart I will say that she is a phenomenal woman who loved man with all her heart and that it was all for man.
‘And I disrespected and was inconsiderate, a great disrespect. The least I can do is go out and say, come on.
“ I will say it 100 percent loud and clear, she is a brilliant woman: we shared something very deep and she loved me with all my heart. And the man went out and disrespected him.
In Lessons, which appears on Stormzy’s new album, Heavy Is the Head, he referred to ‘making dirt’ and ‘making’ funky movements’.
This week, the musician continued to discard the suggestions that he had cheated, saying: “It was not a trap, I did not cheat, but it was not necessary to cheat to be disrespectful.”
Last month, the couple was said to be ‘texting again’ just a few hours after Stormzy issued an apology in his emotional follow-up.
A source told The Sun at that time: “ I knew that I would put your relationship back in the center of the stage by releasing a song about it, and felt it was right to communicate.
‘Now they are recovering well and their closest friends hope to give their relationship another chance.
“It’s clear how the crystal laments the way Stormzy treated Maya and knows she doesn’t deserve a second chance.”
