A founding member of the children’s entertainment group The Wiggles was taken to the hospital after collapsing at the end of their wildfire relief concert in Sydney.

Key points:

  • The incident occurred while conducting a reunion show with his original Wiggles bandmates.
  • New South Wales Ambulance says that a man in his forties was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition
  • Page retired for the first time from Wiggles in 2006 due to orthostatic intolerance, which causes fatigue and fainting

Former Yellow Wiggle Greg Page, who performed at a Sydney reunion concert for an hour and a half with Wiggles band’s original teammates Anthony Field, Murray Cook and Jeff Fatt, could be seen falling to the ground on Friday night .

New South Wales Ambulance says that a man in his forties was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The incident happened in front of a crowd of hundreds in Castle Hill RSL, with thousands more watching live.

After a brief moment of confusion, Cook announced Page’s condition again.

“Greg doesn’t feel really good. I think he’ll be fine. He doesn’t feel very well,” Cook told the live audience.

“It will be fine. We have medical attention.”

An encore execution of Hot Potato without Page was made.

The group’s Twitter account confirmed that Greg Page suffered a “medical incident” at the end of the program.

Tonight’s concert for people over 18 was the first of the two planned with the original Wiggles lineup, and another scheduled for Saturday night.

All come from the shows and the live broadcast goes to the Red Cross Call and WIRES.

Before leaving the stage, Page welcomed the audience: “Thank you for supporting all those wonderful people who do all that great work for everyone.”

Page formed The Wiggles with Field, Cook and Fatt in 1991.

He retired due to illness in 2006 and was diagnosed with orthostatic intolerance, which causes fatigue and fainting.

But he returned to his role as Yellow Wiggle in early 2012.

Page, Cook and Fatt retired together later that year, paving the way for the current Wiggles iteration: Field, Emma Watkins, Lachlan Gillespie and Simon Pryce.
