Deceased animator Richard Williams – maker of Roger Bunny – Meduza


Film and animation director and animator Richard Williams died at his home in Bristol on August 16, The Guardian reports citing his family. Williams was 86 years old.

Richard Williams is known for his work on animation in the feature film Who Framed Roger Rabbit by Robert Zemeckis. He created the characters of the rabbit Roger and his wife Jessica Rabbit.

The animator received two Oscars and one BAFTA Award for his work on the Roger Rabbit film. During his career, Williams won the Oscar three times and received the BAFTA prize just as often.

Richard Williams has also worked on the films The Return of the Pink Panther and The Pink Panther Strikes Again.
