Coronation Street – Tracy and Steve’s marriage hangs in the balance

Coronación Street Partner The marriage of Tracy Barlow and Steve McDonald is in trouble.

Since Tracy (Kate Ford) communicated with Steve (Simon Gregson) about the one-night adventure he shared with Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) on New Year’s Eve, the two have been awkwardly avoiding each other.

But in tonight’s episode (January 13), Steve finally put up courage to confront his wife after an insistent encouragement from his mother Liz (Beverley Callard).

“In my view, you have two options, right?” Liz said. “Either you let them destroy them both, or you take it on the chin … as she did with you and Leanne. You say you love her, prove it.”

Inspired by Liz’s words, Steve turned to the Rovers to ask Tracy an unexpected question.

“I want everyone to hear what I have to say,” he said, when she suggested they speak privately on the floor. “I’ve been thinking a lot about our relationship. Tracy McDonald, do you want to marry me again?”

But his impulsive gesture seemed counterproductive when Tracy unexpectedly rejected him. Dragging him into the backyard, she explained that “they have to be honest with each other” and that she never really got over it by cheating on Leanne Battersby.

“I’m sorry and you know it, it just happened,” he replied shyly.

“It’s not just that, right? Sometimes I’m a nightmare, I know, and it must be why you had doubts and did what you did,” she snapped. “Who would want to marry me?”

Then, Steve insisted that he loves being married to Tracy and that he is sure they can get their relationship back on track once they and their daughter Amy live together again.

“If we are going to overcome this, we will need additional help,” Tracy urged.

Later, the couple discussed in a counseling session after Steve mentioned Tracy and Tracy’s recent infidelity again trying to persuade the therapist that their deception was simply a “symptom” of their problems.

With the task of pointing out the positive aspects of the other, all Steve could gather was a compliment on Tracy’s hair. Can they fix things or are they doomed?
