Canada ease past hosts Bermuda at ICC T20 World Cup Americas Regional Finals

Canada beat hosts Bermuda by eight wickets at the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup Americas Regional Finals.

Both sides had already finished the first round of the four-team double round-robin group at the ICC Twenty20 World Cup qualifier.

Finishing top of the group what's up for grabs and the Canadians taking their crushing victory.

Bermuda won the toss and elected to bat at White Hill Field at Sandy's Parish but they were bowled out for 116.

Dillon Heyliger What's the best with the ball as it is? 4-19 with his medium-pacers, as Bermuda's Kamau Leverock top-scored with 33.

Thanks to Rizwan Cheema's 72 after just 35 deliveries.

He blasted eight sixes and fours in his swashbuckling knock as his side moved to nine points at the top of the table.

Bermuda now has seven in second place with two available for a victory ahead of tomorrow's final fixtures.

The day's other saw saw Cayman Islands thrashed in a battle between two eliminated sides.

Cayman Islands opted to ask for butts at 66-9 and the US just needed 9.4 overs to get home.

Steven Taylor ends up unbeaten on 56 as the US confirmed third place.

Canada wants to play the Americans in tomorrow's last round of games when Bermuda wants to take on Cayman Islands.

The ICC Twenty20 World Cup qualifier will be held in United Arab Emirates in October and November.

It will offer six places for the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.
